37th Annual Homespun Holidays

 The Winter Area Chamber of Commerce is preparing for one of its favorite events, Homespun Holidays! The 37th Annual event, as in the years past, will take place at the Winter School on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30 from 9am to 2pm..
   We are planning activities and fun for the whole family. There are many returning vendors and new homemade artists and crafters signing up. If you have a homemade art or craft and want to have a booth in Homespun, please submit your application soon.

2024 Winter Area Chamber of Commerce Flannel Fest

The Winter Area Chamber of Commerce will be decorating the "Welcome to Winter" corners and light poles down main Street to celebrate the Fall season with flannel, pumpkins, flowers and straw bales. We will be using flannel shirts donated from the community, and  flowers from Winter Green house. They always have lots of beautiful mums and fall plants for sale this time of year. Dale  Biessel will have straw bales for sale up at his shop (Big Boys Toys) on Hwy. 70.

Winter Area Lions Club Septemberfest

   The Winter Area Lions Club Annual Septemberfest will be held at Patti’s on 70 on Saturday, September 14th from 5 p.m.  to 9 p.m. Enjoy food and drink samples from area businesses in addition to live music by the Second Time Around Band. Event takes place rain or shine.
    Tickets are $20 which enters you into a drawing for $200. Tickets are available from local Winter Area Lions Club members.

Exeland Trout Festival

The Exeland Rod and Gun Club will host the 32nd Annual Exeland Trout Festival on August 30th, 31st and September 1st. Medallion hunt, live music, 5K run/walk, cribbage, volleyball, softball and bean bag tourneys, pancake breakfast, chicken dinner, queen and princess pageant, lawnmower races, craft fair and flea market, parade and more. 2024 Ojibwa Canoe & Kayak Race

Mark your calendars for the Annual Ojibwa Community Club Canoe and Kayak Race on Saturday, August 10th. The race starts at the Wannigan Resort at 11 a.m. sharp, and finishes at the Ojibwa Hwy G bridge (approximately 5 miles). Registration begins at 10 a.m.There are multiple race classes and an open kayak class (standard race hulls only - no race hulls allowed). From 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy food and refreshments, kids games and raffles at the Baird Community Park. For more information contact The Wannigan at (715) 266-5141.
